Dear Ans, I was shocked and very saddend to learn of Alberto's sudden passing. Alberto was a special friend and work collegue that was always ready to discuss a problem or just for having a friendly chat. We shared a lot of laughs during all the years in Holland. Dear Ans, I was deeply saddened to hear of Alberto’s sudden passing. Alberto was a former colleague, and one of my two tutors when I started working. He taught me a great deal, both technically and personally, and I will always be grateful for the time we worked together in the tyre production field. He had a remarkable way of approaching problems, always with clarity, patience, and a touch of creativity. I will remember him for the many small, distinctive things that made him who he was. The coloured pencils he always had in hand, carefully bringing his technical drawings to life — made all the more intriguing by the fact that he was ambidextrous. The way he used his steel stapler almost like a tool of precision, hammering staples tight on his classification documents so they could be archived neatly in the common cupboards. And of course, his ingenuity — like the small fan with the steel propeller he made for my camping stove, a perfect example of his practical mind and craftsmanship. Alberto was hardworking, always smiling, and never far from a good joke. He brought energy and warmth into the workplace. Many will also remember his sense of humour and creativity through the “Te Koop” project — a fully secret initiative at the time — in which he and his accomplices illuminated selected office lights in the old tower so that the message could be seen from the highway. It was the kind of bold, inventive idea that carried a certain risk, but also perfectly captured his playful and spirited character. He was also a generous person. I fondly recall how he treated us to a wonderful meal for his birthday, a gesture that says a lot about who he was. Alberto will be greatly missed — as a former colleague, a mentor, and a friend. Alberto was from that I met him in year 2000 until he retired a special colleague having a lot of creativity and humor and in partuicular with a certain italian touch. I in particuöar remember the actions when the old main building in den Haag was lit up in a special way and also all comments on the latest ideas of our managment. Also in private I at several accasions had the opportunity to laugh at Alberto's jokes. May our friend Alberto rest in peace and his memory never die. /Tomas
